Google to Release Google Core Web Vitals in May 2021 – Now is the time to pay attention and focus on Search Engine Optimization.
Holbaek (Denmark) and Karlsruhe (Germany) – Two men from Denmark (Brian Petersen) and Germany (Fabian Pott) are counting the days until May 2021 because Google announced Google Core Web Vitals.
Google has confirmed that Core Web Vitals will become a ranking signal in May 2021. Hence, Brian and Fabian expect this to affect several Google rankings of website owners worldwide.
“Google has been focusing on mobile for a few years now. Anyone who has experience loading a buggy or a slow website onto a mobile device knows how annoying that can be,” he says Brian Petersen, co-founder of SEO Geek Lab.
With a focus on loading speed and good user experience as a ranking signal, both Fabian and Brian expect that many website owners will have a negative impact on their Google rankings if they do not take any action.
“We learned from various tests on websites that the loading speed already affects the ranking. When a website is very slow, it is harder to get high rankings on Google, ”he says Fabian Pott, co-founder of SEO Geek Lab.
Both Brian and Fabian suggest that website owners focus on UX, design, and load speed, and prepare for when Google will release Google Core Web Vitals in May 2021.
The advice from the guys is to use a tool that can measure user experience on a website and record user sessions.
“If you can monitor how your users navigate your website, you can get an idea of navigation or design errors. By fixing these issues, you can provide a better user experience and increase conversions, ”he says Brian Petersen.
“Google already has plenty of tools to measure user experience with lots of data points like Chrome browsers, Android devices, and Google Analytics, so they can easily calculate which website the user prefers,” says Google Fabian Pott.
The SEO geeks suggest that website owners should use a tool like Plerdy – a Hotjar alternative for measuring website performance.
“Taking the right steps now, ironing out design flaws and addressing load speed issues, will be beneficial if you want to maintain your organic Google rankings after May 2021.” says Brian Petersen.
