We wish everyone a very happy women’s day! International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world on March 8th. He is a central point in the movement for women’s rights. But honestly, it doesn’t take us a single day to highlight just how great women really are! “There is no limit to what we can achieve as women.” – Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the United States, has been quoted as saying and frankly, there can be no truer statement than this. Women are inspiring, trailblazing, and high achievers in every way, especially women in the performing arts and glamor industries.

From objectification to scathing remarks to personal life to the need to prove yourself in a man’s world and be your own flawed true self, being a woman is not easy, especially in this glamorous world. On Women’s Day, we’re introducing five women who have changed the way Korean industry works and our collective approach to Korean entertainment.

1. Seo Ye Ji

Seo Ye Ji, arguably last year’s best actress, impressed critics and fans alike with an empathic and lucrative performance as Go Moon Young, a successful children’s book author who specializes in writing macabre stories that don’t have a traditional fairy tale ending in In her real life she seeks family ties and a romantic relationship after years of abuse and abandonment in the hands of loved ones. 2. Lee Hi

3. CL

Lee Chae Rin or CL was born in Seoul but grew up in France and Japan. As an unconventional rapper and singer-songwriter, her unconventional childhood made her tough, nasty, and matter-of-fact. At the age of 15, she made her debut with 2NE1, which became one of the most popular and best-selling South Korean girls’ groups worldwide. She was also the first Korean solo artist to be placed on the Billboard Hot 100 and the third Korean actress to do so overall.

4. IU

Lee Ji Eun aka IU doesn’t need an introduction. Her divine singing and angelic beauty make her a household name among K fans around the world. The success of her song Good Day made IU a formidable force in the music charts and earned her the title “Nation’s Little Star”. As well as being a successful singer-songwriter, IU is a brilliant actress with headlines like My Mister and Hotel Del Luna.

5. Tae-Hye-Ji

The holy trinity of Kim Tae Hee, Song Hye Kyo and Jun Ji Hyun is known in the Korean media as “The Troika”, also known as “Tae-Hye-Ji”. The phenomenally talented and accomplished actresses have delighted audiences and fans around the world with their impeccable talent, beauty and charisma. More power for you!
