There is no question that these days small businesses need to invest in digital marketing for their businesses. With some digital marketing channels, small businesses need to have clear goals and objectives and be careful about choosing the right digital marketing channels for their businesses.
Every industry is unique and has its own marketing needs. All digital marketing channels are not suitable for everyone. Some of them will benefit some industries, but the same will not benefit companies in other industries. Every company needs to consider and select the right ones for their business. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the digital marketing channel that businesses across all industries benefit from when properly implemented.
SEO is a process of optimizing your website for search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. SEO helps search engines discover, index, and rank your website so that it will appear in search engines when internet users search for keywords related to your business products and services.
One of the reasons why small business SEO has the highest return on investment (ROI) of any digital marketing channel is because, unlike Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaigns, it helps increase your website’s organic ranking without paying for advertising on search engines like Google) that can be expensive.
By improving your website’s search engine rankings, it will increase the organic traffic to your website. For example, if you look at Lawyer Search Engine Optimization, New York City sees approximately 1,300 searches per month for the keyword “labor lawyers” for a keyword search tool. If you are an employment lawyer in New York City and your website is high on search engines for that keyword, hundreds of people will organically visit your website each month without paying for ads, which increases the chances of your law firm attracting more clients. The same goes for any small business.
According to the Search Engine Journal poll, the poll was, “Which digital marketing channel has the highest ROI for your website?” 49 percent answered that organic traffic got the highest ROI for their website, 19 percent answered that paid PPC search campaigns got the highest ROI, 18 percent answered that social media got the highest ROI and 14% of the surveyed emails got the highest Achieve ROI for you.
The studies have shown that improved search engine rankings increase the organic traffic to your website. It also helps in building trust in your company and increasing the trust of your potential customers in your products and services.
