Newfold Digital, which owns Bluehost and many other web hosting companies, has acquired WordPress SEO plugin provider Yoast for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition is part of the web technology provider’s long-term strategy to empower its customers’ online success by providing them with access to the best in web presence tools and services.

Newfold Digital President and CEO Sharon Rowlands explained in a press release why Newfold Digital decided to acquire the company behind the popular SEO tool:

Yoast is a popular WordPress plugin that supports more than 12 million websites and helps website owners generate more visitors from search engines and social media while increasing reader loyalty.

At the same time, the company offers online courses on SEO, keyword research, e-commerce, WordPress and more through its online academy.

Upon completion of the acquisition, Yoast will continue to offer its world-class SEO services while joining Newfold Digital’s growing portfolio of brands which include Web.com, Domain.com, HostGator and others. In addition, all Yoast employees and the Newfold Digital leadership team will join.
