For his most memorable scenes, Cha Hak Yeon selected the scenes in which his character had sincere conversations with Kim Yoo Yeon and Jung Seo Hyun in the Glass Garden, the hiding place of Han Soo Hyuk.
Although Han Soo Hyuk has a background that everyone would be jealous of, he had to painfully say goodbye to his mother at a young age. This wound festered only as he grew up a third generation chaebol. After Han Soo Hyuk returned home from studying abroad, he secretly suggested switching rooms with housekeeper Kim Yoo Yeon, who, like himself, suffers from insomnia. Eventually Han Soo Hyuk couldn’t hide his wavering heart from Kim Yoo Yeon and the two shared a kiss in the rain.
Cha Hak Yeon shared, “I liked all of the scenes in the glass garden. We actually waited for the flowers to bloom to film and the room is so beautifully decorated. The room contains the tragic stories of Soo Hyuk who spent time alone, so all the scenes I played in the glass garden left a loving and deep impression on my heart. The scene in which Soo Hyuk shares his true feelings and opens his heart for the first time in his mother Seo Hyun’s glass garden has also grown deep in my heart. “
Last week’s broadcast revealed the will of Chairman Hans (Jung Dong Hwan), who said that Han Soo Hyuk would succeed Hyowon Group when he turns 30. Han Soo Hyuk said he didn’t feel like following his grandfather’s will because it wasn’t the life he wanted.
Though troubled by the fact that he was elected the next chairman of the Hyowon Group, Han Soo Hyuk remained adamant about his feelings towards Kim Yoo Yeon. Cha Hak Yeon skillfully conveyed the complicated feelings of his character, who lived his life as his family expected as the grandson of the Hyowon Group. With a sad look and a slight tremor in his voice, the actor described how Han Soo Hyuk swallowed his sadness with a determined face.
Cha Hak Yeon said, “The scene in the glass garden where Soo Hyuk tells the story of his birth mother and Seo Hyun opens his heart for the first time touched my heart. Soo Hyuk, who calmly told his painful story, which was in contrast to the bright and sunny glass garden, and Seo Hyun, who tried to hug this Soo Hyuk, will stay with me for a long time. “
The actor added, “Thanks to Kim Seo Hyung who worked with me, I was able to immerse myself even deeper and focus on filming the scene. I have a lot of emotional scenes with the senior actors and I am always impressed to see how they act differently for each emotional scene at the beginning of the shoot, even though they are usually infinitely loving and happy. In this way I learn to stay in the same situation and to express my emotions in a different way. “
“Mine” airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9 p.m. KST.
